System description
|
The system uses the satellite-based identification of vehicles entering and leaving the
toll area. The identification is performed by the built-in GPS module. The module is part
of a special unit built for this purpose.
The unit is called OBU and must be built in the
vehicle. Another module that is part of the OBU transmits the data to the EETS Provider using a GPRS connection.
The billing center keeps track of the users travels which the
user may view his travels in real time over the Internet or using a mobile phone. Once a month the
user receives an invoice for road tolls and other services enabled on the users OBU.
